How does the Disney Cruise luggage transfer work?

January 14, 2007 at 2:07 pm | In Disney Cruising - General | No Comments

PassPorter reader WFMA asks:

“I’m using the luggage transfer program through Disney Cruise Line. When you get on the ship, is your luggage in the room already or do you have to wait? What happens if a piece of luggage is missing? Do they put the luggage on the same bus as us to the port? Can I verify that the luggage made it off the plane?”

Can a suite cost less than two staterooms on the Disney Cruise Line?

January 11, 2007 at 8:49 pm | In Disney Cruising - General | No Comments

PassPorter reader Miss Poppins asks:

“I am in the preliminary stages of trying to plan a 3 day Disney cruise for Dec 2007 after a 7 day Walt Disney World stay. We have a large party at least 4 adults and 3 children. Would it cost less or the same to try to book a Category 1 or 2 suite instead of 2 staterooms? (I would prefer to try for an outside stateroom instead of inside) If so, do I have any chance at all of getting a suite–I know there are not many that can accommodate 7.”

Does my 4-year-old need a car seat on a plane?

January 10, 2007 at 1:59 am | In Air Travel | No Comments

PassPorter reader WFMA asks:

“My youngest will be 4 at the time of our trip. Do I have to use a car seat on the plane? I also found a web site that shows a safety strap that you can use instead of a car seat for $70. I want my children to be safe, but if I can make a life just a little easer that would be great. The less I have to carry is better (saving $70, would be a plus)”

Wilderness Lodge pool is closing — should I stay there anyway?

January 10, 2007 at 1:40 am | In Disney World - Hotels | 4 Comments

PassPorter reader Lisa H. asks:

” I have been planning my first trip to Walt Disney World, with the PassPorter guidebook’s help, since early September. After much thought my family and I made reservations at the Wilderness Lodge. I just got a letter in the mail saying the pool would be closed. When I e-mailed them some questions I found out that the whole falls area would be closed. They couldn’t give me a straight answer on the geyser. These beautiful features were why I picked Wilderness Lodge over Animal Kingdom Lodge. I feel like I’m a sucker to pay full price for less than 100% of what they advertised. Can you help me feel better about my choice? What should I do? Thank you for any advice you might have, and also thank you for your wonderful book.”

PassPorter member Dale_Loves_Mickey asks:

“I was just on another site and I couldn’t believe my eyes . They were bashing Tiki Room Under New Management as well as Stitch’s Great Escape. I know Tiki Room isn’t what it used to be, but I don’t find it to be too bad. It is a nice cool get away for 15 min or so. And I love Stitch! My kids do, too. Are we alone?”
